Puente Del Diablo
It was the summer of 1994 in the town of Santeugini, Martorell (Barcelona) where
Gustavo Scolieri would play his first Flamenco guitar solo in front of approximately 400-500
people in the town's soccer field. He finished thesolo to a thundereous ovation, and it was
right there and then that music would become part of his soul for the rest of his life.
Gustavo returned to Toronto, Canada in Sept of 1994, and by June of 1995, Gustavo conceived
Puente del Diablo(PdD). Originally as a guitar duo, PdD would go on to become a complete band
with the inclusion of drums ,bass & keyboards within the next few months.
Percussionist Massimo Campoli joined the band in July of 1995, bassist Paul Cafarelli joined
in 1997, and rythm guitarist Benjamin Barille joined in June of 2001, to round out the
current line up. And they've never looked back.
Gustavo Scolieri & PDD have
toured Asia, the United States
and Canada. They have shared
the stage with pop sensation
Marc Anthony, and have
continuously amazed audiences
at The Beaches Jazz Festival,
since 1996. Gustavo has sold
tens of thousands of records,
all from live shows and by
word of mouth. All this
without the likes of a record
deal, or a distribution deal,
a testament to their live show
and sound that have delighted
fans all over the world. |
