Tonight in T.O

Songwriter/guitarist Gustavo Scolieri leads the band Puente del Diablo, which performs at the Hispanic Fiesta in Mel Lastman Square (5100 Yonge St.), Friday to Monday." "Between writing and performing, I don’t go out to clubs too often. But when I do, I like the Caoba Café (571 College St.) and the Orbit Room (580 College St.). We used to play the Caoba, a Latino club with a nice atmosphere. And the Orbit Room brings in good bands to check out.

Kensington Market is another place I like to hang out in and go clothes shopping during the day. There’s a good selection of vintage wear, and I like to wander from shop to shop. At home, some of my favourite artists are Paco de Lucia and his CD Almoraima, and Gipsy Kings. And my all-time favourite band is Rush. A Farewell To Kings was the first record I ever bought, and Hemispheres is another great album of their’s. There’s a new restaurant, Dos Amigos (1201 Bathurst St.), that prepares true Mexican food. Each time I go I have something different, and it’s always good, plus it has a cozy atmosphere."
